The inspiration behind the name "Hidden Ground" is from several sources....

The first, goes back to the source of all things in recorded his-story, ancient Egypt, where a belief was held that more is unseen than seen. Egyptians believed, in fact, that 80% of the reality on this plane is unseen. The unseen is what we know as hidden energies, forces and attractions governed by laws that are absolute. 

 

The second concept behind the corporate name stems from Suzen's formal training as an Artist. With 20 years of training as a visual artist the fundamental relationship of any picture is known as the figure/ground relationship. As illustrated above - there are two figures kneeling infront a (back) ground on which are painted various symbols. These symbols in turn represent ideas and concepts from the most concrete to the most abstract, from the seen to the unseen...

 

Lastly the name comes from Marshall McLuhan's theory of the hidden ground of media. He said, "like fish in water we are unaware of the nature of the environment that we exist in". We are in the electronic age - transitioning into the nospheric age.

 

Life and experience has taught Suzen that there is always a hidden ground behind everything we do, say and think. A hidden ground behind Art, Technology and Business. By Seeking the hidden ground and knowing the source one can reach a higher ground. The hidden ground provides insight into the figure that dominates it. When it comes to investments of time and energy to create capital Suzen likes to do her research in an attempt to know the ground from which it arises.
